As drought conditions continue, we’re taking an additional step to protect Conway’s water supply.
Beginning Monday, October 5, Conway Corp will suspend outdoor irrigation as part of the Phase 3 Emergency Water Curtailment Plan.
The updated restrictions replace the current Phase 3 irrigation schedule, which allows customers to irrigate one day per week based on their street address. The Saturday and Sunday watering schedule will no longer be in effect beginning October 5.
What does this mean for customers?
Beginning October 5, customers should turn off automatic sprinkler and irrigation systems and discontinue watering lawns using Conway Corp water until further notice.
Customers may continue to hand water individual plants, flowers and shrubs as needed.
Why are we making this change?
Conway Corp continues to closely monitor conditions at Brewer Lake and take steps to protect the community’s available water supply.
Reducing outdoor water use is one of the most effective ways our community can lower overall demand. With more than 90 percent of Conway Corp water customers being residential customers, individual conservation efforts can have a significant collective impact on our water supply.
What other Phase 3 restrictions remain in effect?
All other Phase 3 restrictions remain in effect.
Customers may add water to an existing swimming pool only as necessary to maintain its current level, but filling an empty pool with Conway Corp water is prohibited.
Phase 3 restrictions are mandatory and enforceable under City of Conway Ordinance O-99-74.
Every gallon matters
We know continued water restrictions require customers to make changes at home, and we appreciate everyone who has already taken steps to reduce their water use.
We’re asking all customers to continue limiting nonessential water use wherever possible. Every gallon saved helps protect Conway’s water supply as drought conditions continue.
Conway Corp will continue monitoring drought conditions, water supply and customer demand and will provide updates as conditions change.
