Conway Corp recently recognized Journeyman Lineman Blake Henderson with the company’s 2025 Safety Leadership Award.
The annual award honors an employee who exemplifies the company’s commitment to safety by inspiring others, promoting best practices and maintaining a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Blake was nominated by multiple coworkers for his unwavering dedication to workplace safety. He is known for going above and beyond on every job site, taking the time to explain situations and scenarios and working through potential challenges to find the safest and most effective solutions.
“Blake has proven to be an extremely safe, dependable and knowledgeable employee,” one nomination read. “He takes the time to explain situations and scenarios when I have questions and is always willing to work through potential issues to find the safest and most effective solution.”
Another coworker highlighted his strong safety instincts.
“Blake has a keen eye for recognizing potential dangers and has good ideas for mitigating hazards,” the nomination stated. “He leads those around him by choosing to do what is safest. I’ve been impressed with Blake’s dedication to looking out for the team while performing a very dangerous job.”
A third nomination added, “Blake goes above and beyond to make sure the job is safe and helps explain easier, faster and safer ways to complete the work.”
Conway Corp CEO Bret Carroll commended Henderson for his leadership and commitment to safety.
“I appreciate the dedication Blake shows toward our culture of safety,” Carroll said. “I’m especially proud of the way he looks out for his team members in a hazardous work environment.”
Blake said he was honored to receive the award.
“I’m very thankful to receive this award,” he said. “I’m honored that my coworkers even nominated me.”
He joined Conway Corp as a groundman in March 2017. He was promoted to apprentice lineman 1 in February 2020 and continued to advance each year before being promoted to his current role in February 2024.
