Conway Corp Cable Installers John Davis, Sean Maxfield, Andrew Nelson and Jake Stewart have earned the Broadband Premises Technician (BPT) certification from the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) after completing required course work and a final exam.
The BPT certification describes the knowledge of an experienced field technician who will install and troubleshoot telecommunications services at a customer’s home. This certification is one of three stand-alone certifications along with Broadband Premises Installer (BPI) and Broadband Premises Expert (BPE).
“I am very proud of the effort these four men have put into their careers,” CATV Training Coordinator Tommy Nolen said. “These certifications take a lot of time and effort. It shows the dedication they have to advancing their education in an effort to provide our customers the great service they are accustomed to from Conway Corp.”
The SCTE is a global leader for telecommunication education and training programs that meet the ever-changing cable industry. The Broadband Premises Installation and Service course was developed in collaboration with the industry’s top technical professionals and cable operators. The training is nationally recognized by the cable telecommunications industry and helps individuals interested in working for a cable provider.
The technicians will now work next toward earning the next stand-alone premise certification, as a Broadband Premises Expert.
