At Conway Corp, Father’s Day is more than a calendar holiday – it’s a reminder of the people behind the work and the legacy of dedication passed from one generation to the next. This year, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on a father-son duo who embody that spirit every day: Chad and Gage Hogan.
The Hogan family’s connection to Conway Corp goes back more than 50 years. Chad’s father, Billy, worked here from 1972 to 1977. Years later, Chad followed in his father’s footsteps, but not without a little push from someone special. While traveling for work in Missouri, Chad saw a job opening at Conway Corp. It was his wife, Natalie, who encouraged him to apply so he could be home more for their growing family. At the time, their daughter Hannah was three, and their son Gage had just turned one.
“It was hard trying to provide while traveling all the time,” Chad recalled. “I filled out the application, but Natalie turned it in for me. When they called me for an interview, it was a blessing that allowed me to be home every day.”
Chad began his journey with Conway Corp in May 2000 as a utility worker apprentice at age 22. He was promoted to utility worker in 2003 and served until 2012, when he and Natalie made the bold decision to follow a calling to mentor young men at a boys’ home.
“God pushed us,” Chad said. “We sold everything and poured into those boys. We became their parents and did life with them.”
When that season came to an end, Chad didn’t know what was next. A chance encounter at a charity fishing tournament reconnected him with former coworker Robert Fortner, who encouraged him to apply for an open position at Conway Corp. Two weeks later, Chad was back, picking up where he left off. He was promoted to water systems foreman in 2019 and to his current role as water systems senior foreman in 2022.
All the while, his son Gage was watching.
From a young age, Gage respected the pride his dad took in his work. But he wanted to forge his own path first. He joined the military and served six years in the Army before working a series of labor-intensive jobs. Despite the change in careers, one thing remained the same: the deep respect he held for Conway Corp.
“I remembered what Conway Corp did for our family growing up,” Gage said. “After the military and a few tough jobs, I realized I wanted that same stability – and to work with my hands like I saw my dad do.”
With encouragement from his wife, Juliana, Gage applied for a job in the cable department. In January 2022, at 22 – the same age his dad was when he started, Gage joined Conway Corp as a telecom construction technician trainee. He was promoted to technician 1 in 2023, transferred to the telecom maintenance department in early 2024, and was promoted to his current position of telecom maintenance technician 1 in December 2024.
Now working in different departments, Chad and Gage share the same pride in serving the city they love and working alongside one another at a company that means so much to their family.
“There’s a little bit of friendly competition,” Gage joked. “My goal is to retire in a higher position than him, just to one-up my dad. But in all seriousness, we’re both grateful to be here and to do work that matters.”
Chad smiled and added, “It’s incredible to watch your son become a man of integrity and to see him love this company and this community the way I do.”
This Father’s Day, we celebrate the Hogans and all the fathers at Conway Corp who lead by example, serve with heart and pass down values that build stronger families – and a stronger Conway.
Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Conway Corp!
