Conway Corp is moving to Phase 3 of its Emergency Water Curtailment Plan effective today, requiring our community to take additional steps to reduce water use.
Brewer Lake, Conway’s primary water source, remains below normal levels following prolonged dry conditions. Our customers have responded to conservation measures during the earlier phases of the plan, and we appreciate those efforts. However, current conditions require us to reduce water demand even further to help protect our community’s water supply.
“We are grateful to our customers for the conservation efforts they have already made,” Conway Corp CEO Bret Carroll said. “Moving to Phase 3 means we need our community to reduce water use even further. Every gallon saved helps protect our water supply, and we are asking everyone to continue working together and be intentional about how they use water.”
What Does Phase 3 Mean for Me?
The biggest change under Phase 3 is a significant reduction in outdoor watering.
Lawns May Be Watered One Day Per Week
Customers may water lawns one day per week only, based on their street address:
- Even-numbered addresses: Saturday only
- Odd-numbered addresses: Sunday only
Even on your designated watering day, we encourage you to limit irrigation as much as possible. Reducing outdoor water use is one of the most effective ways our community can lower overall water demand during prolonged dry conditions.
What About Swimming Pools?
If you already have a swimming pool, you may add water as needed to maintain its existing water level.
However, filling an empty swimming pool with Conway Corp water is prohibited during Phase 3.
Why Are We Moving to Phase 3?
Brewer Lake is Conway’s primary water source, and prolonged dry conditions have caused lake levels to remain below normal.
Moving through the phases of our Emergency Water Curtailment Plan allows us to respond as conditions change and take increasingly stronger conservation measures when necessary.
Conway Corp will continue closely monitoring Brewer Lake levels, system demand and overall water supply conditions. Phase 3 restrictions will remain in place until conditions allow us to make a change.
Every Gallon Matters
We know moving to Phase 3 requires our customers to make additional changes, and we appreciate the community’s continued cooperation.
One household reducing its water use may not seem like much. But when thousands of Conway homes and businesses conserve together, those individual actions can have a significant impact on overall demand.
Please continue limiting non-essential water use wherever possible, follow the Phase 3 requirements and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.
Protecting Conway’s water supply takes all of us.
