Conway Corp recently announced Telecom Maintenance Senior Foreman Brent Garren won first place overall at the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) Razorback Chapter Cable Games for the third year in a row.
Each year, the SCTE Razorback Chapter hosts a statewide competition where telecommunications and broadband providers from across Arkansas send their best technicians to compete in skill-based events. The Cable Games are designed to test the knowledge and technical expertise necessary to successfully install and maintain telecom services for customers. Events include cable and fiber splicing, meter reading, drop connections, time domain reflectometer readings and a telecom-themed Jeopardy game.
Brent’s performance earned him a spot in the SCTE National Cable Games Finals, scheduled to take place this September in Washington, D.C.
“Brent has done a phenomenal job of encouraging and pushing participation in the games,” Conway Corp Cable Telecommunications Systems Manager Tommy Nolen said. “He not only strives to set the bar high but is willing to teach and mentor other technicians to strive for their best performance. I know that Brent will represent the SCTE Razorback Chapter and Conway Corp with excellence in the national games.”
