As we continue to ask customers to voluntarily curtail water usage, local businesses play an important role in helping protect our community’s water supply.
With ongoing dry conditions and lower-than-normal levels at Brewer Lake, reducing non-essential water use remains critical. Small adjustments across many businesses can make a meaningful impact.
Here are several ways businesses can help conserve water:
Limit non-essential outdoor water use
Avoid watering landscaping, lawns and decorative features unless necessary.
Postpone exterior cleaning
Delay washing company vehicles, sidewalks, parking lots or building exteriors when possible.
Check for leaks
Inspect plumbing, irrigation systems and equipment regularly to identify and fix leaks quickly.
Optimize equipment use
Run dishwashers, laundry systems and other water-dependent equipment only when fully loaded.
Encourage employee awareness
Remind staff to be mindful of water use in breakrooms, restrooms and workspaces.
Evaluate operations
Look for opportunities to temporarily reduce water-intensive processes where possible.
Please remember this is not an emergency, but a proactive effort to help ensure reliable service for our community. We appreciate the partnership of everyone in the community in helping conserve this vital resource.
