As the new school year approaches, the importance of having the right supplies cannot be overstated. For many families, the cost of these essentials can be a significant burden.
Recognizing this need, Conway Corp employees have once again stepped up to support the community through a school supply drive, benefiting the Pine Street Backpack Program. The program provides support to more than 14,000 kids by providing school supplies for children in grades K-12 in both Conway and Faulkner County, prioritizing elementary schools with the highest need.
For years, Conway Corp has been more than just a provider of energy — it’s been a cornerstone of our community, deeply committed to giving back. Contributing to this year’s school supply drive is a continuation of that tradition, aiming to ensure that as many students as possible start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.
The Pine Street Backpack Program has been a lifeline for families in our area. By providing backpacks filled with essential school supplies, the program helps ensure that students are prepared for the academic challenges ahead. This initiative is particularly important for families facing financial difficulties, offering a sense of normalcy and readiness as children head back to school.
In early August, Conway Corp set up collection boxes at each campus. Employees were encouraged to drop off new school supplies — everything from crayons, pens, glue sticks to dry erase markers and 3 ring binders. Donations poured in. Every dollar raised went directly to purchasing additional supplies for the program. Together, employees contributed more than 500 school supplies and 100 tote bags.
The success of the school supply drive is a testament to the power of community collaboration. Thanks to the generous contributions of so many, the Pine Street Backpack Program is now equipped to distribute hundreds of backpacks filled with supplies to students in need. This effort not only helps alleviate the financial strain on families but also ensures that children can start the school year on equal footing with their peers.
