Conway Corp recently announced Safety Director Brent Fason has been appointed to serve as the Region 4 Alternate Standing Member Representative on the American Public Power Association (APPA) Safety Committee.
His appointment was confirmed during last month’s committee’s virtual meeting.
Brent was elected to the position by fellow safety committee members, a testament to the confidence his peers place in his expertise and longstanding commitment to safety in the public power industry.
“Brent’s dedication to safety and his commitment to the well-being of our employees and community make him an outstanding choice to serve on APPA’s Safety Committee,” Conway Corp Chief Financial Officer Erin Brown said. “His expertise not only benefits Conway Corp but will also contribute meaningfully to advancing safety initiatives across the public power industry.”
Established in 2024, the APPA safety committee provides strategic guidance and oversight of key safety programs, conferences, events, and publications, including the industry-standard APPA Safety Manual. The committee plays a pivotal role in advancing workplace safety and aligning public power systems with national best practices.
As a standing member, Brent will serve a five-year term, beginning immediately and expiring in 2030. Committee members may serve a maximum of two terms, with an optional one-year extension under special circumstances as determined by a committee vote.
He began his career at Conway Corp full-time in June 2003, serving as a utility worker apprentice. He was promoted to utility worker in 2008, then to safety coordinator in 2019. He was promoted to his current role in 2023.
Congratulations, Brent!
