Journeyman Lineman Jim Simpson retired this month after dedicating more than 33 years of service to Conway Corp and the Conway community.
Jim joined the company in 1991 as a groundman in the electric department. He entered the journeyman lineman apprentice program shortly after and became a certified lineman in 1998. After briefly leaving the company, he was re-hired and promoted to senior lineman in September 2022.
During his time at Conway Corp, Simpson supervised and performed the maintenance and installation of power lines and electric equipment for the company’s large industrial customers.
“Jim was kind and an amazing teacher,” Journeyman Lineman Joe Bingham said. “He took the time to really teach me. He climbed poles with me when he didn’t have to. He also made it a point to treat my kids on their birthdays. That’s just who he is: a giving person.”
