The Conway Corp Board of Directors recently elected John Scherrey to serve a seven-year term beginning May 8, 2024. Scherrey is Chief Lending Officer at Centennial Bank.
John, a lifelong Conway resident, graduated from St. Joseph High School in 2001 before earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Arkansas in 2008. He completed his graduate studies at the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University in 2018. He also completed both the Faulkner County Leadership class in 2015 as well as the prestigious Leadership Arkansas program in 2020.
He described being chosen to serve on the board as a privilege.
“Conway Corporation provides a public service to the community while maintaining common long-term goals,” John said. “I thank the previous leaders who helped create Conway Corp which allows us to separate our community from others. It is a privilege to serve on this board in my hometown.”
He and his wife Donna share four children. When he is not hunting or coaching his kids’ basketball teams, he serves on the board for both Conway Downtown Partnership and St. Joseph School.
The board elects one director annually to serve a seven-year term. Other board members are Dr. Kateryna Pitchford, Kelley Erstine, Osmar Garcia, Jake Nabholz, Denise Perry and Reggie Rose.
John replaces Tom Courtway, whose term ended May 8, 2024.
