Network Engineering & Operations Manager Roy Grubb was among 55 individuals awarded graduation certificates during the graduation of the 2023 class of the Conway Area Leadership Institute (CALI) at the Brick Room Event Center earlier this month.
CALI is a program that prepares emerging leaders to serve the Conway community through curriculum inspired by Conway2025, a long-range strategic plan developed by the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce with the input of more than 1,400 area residents.
Class participants experience first-hand how community leaders, businesses and organizations make a difference in Conway every day while developing their own leadership skills and role in the success of the community.
Conway Corp Chief Technology Officer Jason Hansen said Roy’s recent graduation reminds him of a quote from Jack Welch: “Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others.”
“Roy was laser-focused on continuous improvement early in his career and this dedication to self-growth paid off, as he quickly established himself as a reliable resource and earning the respect of his colleagues,” Hansen said. “As Roy progressed in his career, he has focused on developing the skills and talents of his team, regularly providing coaching and feedback to help his team members grow. By first focusing on his own growth and then turning his attention to developing others, Roy has become a truly exceptional leader. We are proud to have him on our team and grateful for his contributions to our company’s success.”
Roy began his career at Conway Corp as a WAN support technician in January 2007. He was promoted to broadband services administrator in March 2008 and his current position in December 2011.
Congrats, Roy!
