Conway Corp recently honored Tom Makara with the company’s annual Tower of Excellence Award.
The Tower of Excellence Award recognizes an employee who has made a significant impact on Conway Corp through outstanding dedication and exceptional job performance. Recipients consistently display characteristics valued by co-workers and are dedicated to fulfilling Conway Corp’s mission.
Tom was nominated by multiple colleagues for his commitment to excellence and his ability to consistently go above and beyond expectations. According to his nominations, Tom’s leadership, attention to detail, and dedication to providing exceptional service have made him an invaluable member of the Conway Corp team.
One nomination stated:
“Tom is the person you can count on to get the job done right. He takes ownership of projects from start to finish, ensures that every detail is addressed, and truly cares about the success of the company and its employees.”
Another coworker praised Tom for his ability to lead with integrity and create a positive working environment for those around him:
“Tom leads by example every single day. He is approachable, professional, and dedicated to both the people he works with and the customers we serve.”
Conway Corp CEO Bret Carroll echoed these sentiments.
“Tom’s work is outstanding and he is willing to go above and beyond to make sure he is serving the Conway Corp team well,” he said.
Despite his commitment and hard work, Tom said he was surprised to win the award.
“I’m truly honored to receive this award,” Makara said. “Each day, I come in with the goal of being positive, knowledgeable, helpful and safe. It means a lot to see that hard work and a caring attitude are recognized and appreciated here at Conway Corp. I’m excited to continue supporting our team and contributing in any way I can in the future.”
Tom joined Conway Corp in February 2010 as a dispatch/utility employee. He was promoted to materials coordinator in October 2013 and assumed his current role as inventory control coordinator in May 2022. Over the years, Tom has contributed to numerous projects and initiatives that have improved efficiency, strengthened customer service and advanced Conway Corp’s mission.
